Msheireb Downtown

Steintec is delighted to have secured its first job in Qatar as part of the groundbreaking Msheireb Downtown Doha project which will transform the centre of the capital city.

Msheireb is the world’s first sustainable downtown regeneration project and will revive the old commercial district with a new architectural language that is modern, yet inspired by traditional Qatari heritage and architecture. Msheireb Downtown Doha will become a new social and civic hub in the city centre – a place where it is enjoyable to live, work, shop, visit and spend time with family and friends.

Using the latest in sustainable technologies, Msheireb will adhere to the highest standards in green building. The strategic objective of the Msheireb project is to reverse the pattern of development in Doha, which has tended towards isolated land use, reliance on car transportation and energy hungry structures.

The QR20 billion Msheireb Downtown Doha project to redevelop, regenerate and conserve the historical downtown of Doha, includes 31-hectares of mixed-use development situated in the centre of the city. It will feature premier office space, retail, leisure facilities, townhouses, upscale apartments, hotels, museums, civic services, and exciting cultural and entertainment venues.
Cars and traditional services are strategically placed underground in several basement levels, ensuring a pedestrian - friendly atmosphere. The project will also be served by a dedicated tramway.
