A revamp of Hoddesdon Town Centre, unveiled in November 2013, was hailed as a positive sign of the town’s success and praised for the positive impact it would have on future prosperity.
The scheme to give a boost to the town centre focused on roads around the Clock Tower and was a joint effort from Broxbourne Council and Hertfordshire County Council. It was designed to reduce traffic congestion and improve pedestrian safety and the street scene at the end of the town.
Among the works completed were road surface replacements on Amwell Street and Burford Street, the extension of a bus stop near the Clock Tower and installation of a zebra crossing near the Clock Tower and war memorial. A loading bay was created in Burford Street to assist deliveries to retailers in the town centre.
Architects Saunders Partnership specified Steintec products for a paved area of 1,700 square metres.
